BEFORE A LOSS

YOUR POLICY: THE KEY TO COVERAGE

When was the last time you read your property policy?

...We know. Policy language can be hard to understand for many people.

Coverage for an insured loss is determined by your policy, which is a contract. Treat it like one. Know your policy's exclusions, limitations, deadlines and more, before you ever have to file a claim.

We can provide you with a complimentary policy review, to point out:

Exclusions

Limitations

Time limits

Duties after loss

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

BEFORE A LOSS

Do you have any insurance companies you can recommend?

We get this question a lot! We are not licensed insurance agents or brokers, and choosing property insurance coverage requires looking at many factors. As such, we do not have any specific insurance carriers or policies from carriers that we can recommend.
What we can suggest, is to get the education that you need to become an informed consumer to learn how to make the most appropriate insuring choices for yourself, while working with your licensed insurance agent or broker of choice. We invite you to our resources section, which may have some helpful resources that you can use while working with your licensed insurance agent or broker to choose the best coverage for your needs and budget.

AFTER A LOSS

How much does Parker Public Adjusting charge for claims adjusting services?

For claims adjusting services in Minnesota, we charge a percentage of the total Replacement Cost Value of the claim, including the deductible amount, subject to the terms of our Public Adjusting Agreement.

Does Parker Public Adjusting provide appraiser services?

We offer claims adjusting as our primary service, and do not offer appraiser services at this time. Our passion for balanced representation, excellent client experience, and informed consumers leads us to focus the bulk of our efforts towards claims adjusting services and non-profit support and volunteering. We are open to this changing as we expand our team, but stick to our primary purposes at this time. Please note that while both the insurance appraisal process and the claims adjusting process are both options to resolve certain types of first party property claim disputes, there are significant differences between the two services: Claims adjusting - Only licensed public insurance adjusters or attorneys can provide claims adjusting services for policyholders in Minnesota, which includes claim negotiation for coverage and the amount of the loss, claim management, and more. Appraisal - The binding property insurance appraisal process requires no license in Minnesota and uses a different valuation method and process than an appraisal for licensed real estate valuation purposes. While there are currently no licensing requirements in Minnesota for appraisers participating in the property insurance claim appraisal process, it is important to hire someone that is trained for this process, which is a specialized service unique to property insurance.

Do I have to hire a public adjuster if I have claim?

No, you do not have to hire a public adjuster. Hiring a licensed public insurance adjuster to assist you with a property claim is simply an option. If you experience a property claim dispute, there are different tools available to you to use, depending upon your claim's details. Available dispute resolution methods have different pricing and appropriate circumstances. Again, hiring a public insurance adjuster is just one option. Contact us for a complimentary claim review, if you have additional questions.

Do you have a service area?

Our primary service area is the Minneapolis/St. Paul seven county metro area. For total/large losses we will service claims in other regions of Minnesota, subject to availability and current claim load. Please contact us if you have questions. We look forward to expanding our service areas in the future as we grow and add new adjusters to our team.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Do you provide consulting or training?

The majority of our activities not related to our primary service of claims adjusting are related to supporting non-profits and volunteering, in order to fulfill our mission statement to further consumer education, and to benefit the public as a whole. We cannot and do not give legal advice. If you need legal advice, contact an attorney licensed to practice law in your state. On an extremely limited basis, we have provided paid consulting opportunities at our discretion for private clients, businesses, or organizations, but consulting is not part of our routine service offerings, and is subject to availability and approval. If you have a consulting request, please contact us to submit your special request. Our CEO, Sarah Parker, presents and speaks at different events and conferences nationwide, many of which offer adjuster accredited CE (for all types of adjusters: staff, independent, and public) and attorney CLE opportuntities for different states. Follow us on social media and subscribe to our newsletter to receive the latest updates from Parker Public Adjusting, which includes educational and training events.

For expert witness or umpire services, what types of claims can you service, and what are your rates?
